What an amazing day! This was my first big winter hike and helped me cross off the last hike of my ME 14/14 list! 🎉🎉🥾❄️🗻 Thankful @casie__fred was able to go with me! We had a lot of fun, discussed our goals, had a few false summits 🙊😂 had lots of laughter and positive encouragement!

This hike seemed absolutely magical! I haven’t decided if this was actually my favorite Maine 4K or not. The views were absolutely beautiful and just something about walking through the powder covered trees was beautiful! ❄️

We started the day at 18° and ended at 30°. Wind at the summit was supposed to make real feel -2° while we were up there and boy did we feel it up there! 🥶Other than that, I had plenty of @llbean layers, even had to shed some and put them back in my @deuter pack.

There were more than a couple of water crossings like I had read previously but if you use just one trekking pole it makes it so much easier. Thankful we didn’t have to wear our spikes and didn’t need snowshoes. We really had some great weather. The skies were perfect and the sun left the snow glistening during our entire hike which was 👌😍

Another Baxter season in the books — and this one might just be my favorite yet. 🏔️💚

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞’𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐮𝐩 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 — 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐨 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐰𝐚𝐲. 🌲

Baxter State Park has officially closed for the season, and as I wrap up my guiding there for 2025, I can’t help but feel so grateful. My 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 was probably 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘐’𝘷𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘢𝘥 in Baxter — pure magic from start to finish. ✨

This year, I watched women find courage, laughter, and strength on the trail. That’s what it’s all about — connection, confidence, and a love for this wild place.

I summited 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗵𝗱𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 (aiming for seven!) — but weather always has the last word. 😉
